Field Day

Yesterday was Field Day at Rachel's school. It was a beautiful day to be outside! All of the kids were seated around the track, and the events took place on the infield of the track. There were events like the 3-legged race, wheelbarrow race, water balloon toss, crab walk, 50 yard dash, etc. The teachers assigned each kid to an event. Rachel did the crab walk this year. It was a partner event, so she was paired with one of her friends from class. The other girl started out and had to race to Rachel, and then Rachel raced back to the start. Rachel's partner had a difficult time with the crab walk, and most teams were already finished before Rachel was even able to start her part of the race! But she waited patiently for her partner to finish the 1st half of the race and then Rachel took off toward the finish line. Let me just say that Rachel is pretty fast doing the crab walk! If it had been an individual event, I think she might have one! Check out the video to see for yourself! After lunch we all went back out to the track and each grade competed in relay races. Then it was time to head inside and get ready to go home. I think Rachel had a good time. Katelyn was out there the entire day and had a blast hanging out with all of the "big" kids! She thinks she's part of the class! I've also created a slideshow from our day.
