Trick or Treat & Happy Halloween! Hope you had a great evening! The girls had a really fun time tonight. We started out by trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. As you can see from the pictures, we had the sports theme going this year. Rachel was a basketball player (her headband says "Future Lady Vol" in case you were wondering). She carried her orange & white basketball with her while she trick-or-treated. Katelyn was a tennis player. She carried her tennis racquet with her while trick-or-treating. We just went to a few houses here where we know the people.
After trick-or-treating, we headed to church for the Fall Festival. It was lots of fun with games, food, and friends! The girls got their faces painted too, so that's rainbows you can see on their cheeks in the first picture.
After the Fall Festival, we came home and waited to see if we would have any trick-or-treaters. The girls called them customers! They would sit by the door and look out the window and yell if they saw someone coming, "We've got more customers!!!" After giving out most of our candy (we had less than 10 "customers", but we gave out candy by the handfuls!)
, Katelyn realized that we were actually giving away candy! She started pouting and said "I don't want to send our candy away!" But don't feel sorry for her - we've got plenty of candy!!!
A big thanks to Aunt Beth for making Katelyn's tennis skirt and buying her the tennis shirt. It sure made a cute costume!
Hope you had a fun Halloween! Don't eat too much candy!!!

Wacky Day at Kindergarten
Today was Wacky Day at Rachel's school. So Rachel wore her PJ's to school, inside out, and backwards! She thought that was so funny! You can see the tag of her shirt hanging proudly there - front & center! We also had fun with her wacky hair by putting lots of pony tails in her hair. Katelyn said that Rachel looked like a porcupine!!!
Katelyn didn't dress wacky today, but she was a big helper! I helped decorate at church for our Fall Festival tonight, and Katelyn was such a good girl while I helped out. She helped for a while, but then when it got to the point where there wasn't anything for a 3 year old to help with, she went into one of the offices and watched a movie and played with tinker toys. She was so good and let me get a lot done this morning. Of course, she'll get to reap the benefits tonight when we go to the Fall Festival and she has so much fun! I've included a picture of Katelyn today too.
I hope to have Halloween pictures posted soon! We're going with the athletic theme this year - surprise, I know!!! HaHa!!
Check back soon and maybe I'll have some pictures. Have a safe Halloween!

Rachel's Kindergarten Picture
We finally got Rachel's kindergarten pictures back today! I think they turned out pretty well. I'll have to find her another beautician though because her bangs aren't close to being straight!!! In case you couldn't figure it out - I cut her hair!!! I don't think I have a career as a hairdresser! What do you think?

Katelyn's Preschool Pictures
Here are Katelyn's preschool pictures. Can you tell that she's had her picture taken a few times?!?!?! She poses pretty much on cue for the camera. I know I'm biased, but isn't she just adorable? She knows it too! If I'm trying to get on to her about something, she'll smile really big and say "Mommy I love you!" It's hard to stay focused on punishing her when she gives you that cute smile!
Rachel had her school pictures made recently too, so we should be getting those back soon. I'll post them when I get them.

Soccer Pictures
This is Rachel's soccer pictures from this Fall. I had to scan the picture in, so the image is a little off as far as color quality goes. But it's better than nothing! Rachel has really enjoyed soccer this year, and has done very well. Last year I think she scored one goal the entire season, and this year she has scored at least one goal in every game except the last game. One game she even scored 4 goals! She is having a blast playing! Katelyn can't wait til next year so that she'll be old enough to play. Of course, then they'll be in two different age divisions, so we'll be going to two practices and two games. Oh well, I guess that's the life of a parent!

Fall Break

Yes - it's been a couple of weeks since I've posted anything. Seems like I was always busy doing something else. This past week was Fall Break, so we headed to Florida for a few days of fun! We stayed in Destin and had a great time! The girls were sad that we had to leave! Rachel loves the ocean and the beach! She doesn't sit still at all! She is always doing something - jumping the waves, looking for shells, running on the beach, playing in the sand, looking for hermit crabs, etc. It's always something! Katelyn, on the other hand, is perfectly content to sit in the sand and pour water or sand from one bucket to another. A really fun thing to do (according to Katelyn) is to move sand from one bucket to another using a popsicle stick!!! How tedious! But she loves it! Katelyn did venture into the water a bit this year. She's still not crazy about getting out into the ocean more than just ankle deep, but she was fine letting the water splash over her feet.
We got home from Florida on Thursday evening, and then Robert & I headed to Gatlinburg on Friday afternoon for a marriage retreat for our church. Our minister of discipleship had asked us to help him plan the retreat since we knew the speakers - RODNEY & SELMA WILSON!!!! It was great to see Rodney & Selma and get to visit with them. As usual, they did a great job leading the marriage retreat!
