Children's Choir sing "Revelation Song"

The children's choir sang this at church on Sunday night. Rachel had the 4th solo in the song. They all did a wonderful job!

This afternoon the girls practiced the song the children's choir was singing in the service tonight.

Song from Snow White Play

This is one of the songs from the Snow White play Rachel was in this week-end. She's the middle fox (and she has her glasses on).

What Do You Think?

People at school are constantly telling me that Katelyn looks just like me. I had a friend that I've known pretty much my whole life comment on Facebook the other day that Katelyn looks just like me at that age. That prompted me to find some old pictures of me. I pulled out my 2nd grade picture, 3rd grade picture, and 4th grade picture and made a collage of those pictures with three recent pictures of Katelyn (which were all taken this year - 2nd grade). So what do you think? Does she look like me? Robert said she definitely got her BIG front teeth from me!

Sports Saturday

Saturday started out with Katelyn's basketball game. She was so excited to have so many fans there cheering her on! Mamaw & Papaw, Lloyd & Wendy, Donald & Beth, and Jessica all were in the stands cheering for Katelyn! Katelyn and her team played awesome! Katelyn showed off some of her dribbling skills, scored 4 points, and had several steals!

Next up was Rachel's soccer game. Rachel played super! She decided to show off for all of her fans too and scored three goals! Let me put that into perspective for you. She's been playing indoor soccer every Saturday since November (with a couple weeks off for Christmas) and had not scored at all. Then on Saturday she scored THREE goals! That's huge! She always plays well - it's just that she doesn't take many shots and therefore, doesn't score. She's more of a passer and a defensive player. She was so happy to have scored that many goals in one game! Way to go Rachel!!!

Basketball Pictures

Saturday was picture day at basketball so I took a few shots while we were waiting.

This is Katelyn with one of her best friends, Mia.
Team huddle before pictures. I thought this was cute!

Snow Day - 1/10/11 Part 2!

This afternoon we went back outside to play in the snow some more! Our friends, Lily & Holly, came over and played with us for a while! We had lots of fun sledding down the hill and then we had a big ol' snowball fight! We divided into two teams, propped the sleds up in front of us as shields, spent a few minutes making a supply of snowballs, and then started the snowball fight! It was lots of fun!!!

Lady Vols Game with a Friend

Yesterday the Lady Vols had a game at noon, but Robert was in the KidStuf skit so he wouldn't be finished until after the 2nd service at church. So the girls and I decided to just go to the game without him! As we were leaving church, we said something to Katelyn's friend, Mia, about going to the game. So, she ended up going home with us from church and going to the game with us! The girls loved hanging out together. You might be able to tell from the picture that they all three have on matching outfits - just different colors!

Katelyn's Basketball Game: 1/8/11

Katelyn's first basketball game of the season was this morning. Five out of the six players have never played before! Katelyn is the only one who has played before, and she's by far our smallest player! All things considered, our team did pretty well. We didn't win, but they did a good job! Katelyn had some good shots at the goal, but never did score. But she played good defense and made some good moves on offense - the shots just didn't fall for her today.

This is Katelyn with two of her teammates: Madison and Stephanie

Snowmen Doing the Limbo

The snowmen that we built Wednesday night lasted longer than we expected. They started melting on Thursday and were leaning, but didn't fall over. We kept expecting them to crash, but they kept hanging on! We said it looked like they were trying to limbo!! Friday afternoon they finally bent over so much that they lost their heads! Here are some pictures before they were headless!

Catching Snowflakes

Snow Day

This afternoon around the time that school was out it started snow big, HUGE snowflakes! I think it was the biggest snowflakes I've ever seen!!! It doesn't take too long of snowing like that for the ground to start getting white. The girls went outside for a few minutes before we went to church to try and catch some of those huge snowflakes on their tongues! When we got home from church, we let the girls play outside for a few minutes. We built two snowmen, did some sledding, and threw snowballs at each other! Now we just want the snow to go away so we can go to school tomorrow!

The Christmas Pig

You might be a redneck if.... you have a light-up Christmas pig with a santa hat on your front porch!!! Actually, the pig has now been packed away with the other decorations, but yes, we had a pig on our porch!! It's kind of a joke with Lloyd & Wendy. We were riding around looking at Christmas lights one night and somehow the subject came up of never having seen a Christmas pig decoration. It went on & on, and the girls thought it was hilarious. Fast forward a couple of weeks and Wendy finds one! So they buy it for the girls! Therefore, we now have a Christmas pig! Sorry I didn't get a picture of it all lit up at night! By the way, I think the girls have named her Henrietta!
