Day 2 was a jam-packed adventure! We started out the day by visiting the Chattanooga Zoo. We weren't expecting much; however, we were pleasantly surprised! If you're headed to Chattanooga, you might want to check it out. It's not a big zoo and doesn't have a lot of the big animals, but for the price, it's a great value! Adults are only $6, and I printed off coupons from their website to get the girls in free!! We spent a couple of hours there and saw everything at least 2 times. They have snow leopards, jaguars, cougars, raccoons, prairie dogs, macaws, peacocks, turkeys, snakes, iguanas, various other reptiles, chimpanzees, spider monkeys, a couple of other monkeys, red pandas, camels, and a small petting zoo. I must say they have the fattest raccoons we've ever seen! We just laughed at them they were so big!!! The girls thought I needed to take their picture everytime we saw a statue or sign, so we have lots of pictures! It was fun though - definitely something worth the money!
After the zoo, we went to meet Beth and Donald for lunch. They decided to come down and spend one night in Chattanooga to visit with the girls. After lunch, we headed over to the Tennessee Railroad to ride a real train! The girls really loved riding the train! We even rode through a tunnel! It was a very relaxing ride through parts of Chattanooga. We got to see where they rebuild trains and repair trains, and even got to watch them turn our engine around on a turntable! Katelyn didn't like the train whistle though - so she was constantly covering her ears when we weren't on the train. This was another attraction that was better than we expected!!
After the train ride, we went to Sir Goony's for some miniature golf! I found some buy 1 get 1 free coupons, so we each played 36 holes! Rachel had a hole-in-1 and Katelyn actually ended up with two hole-in-1's! Robert and Beth also had a hole-in-1, so that means Donald and I were the only ones to not get a hole-in-1! This was a fun time!
After playing so many holes of golf, we all had worked up quite an appetite, so what better place to eat supper than CiCi's Pizza!!! We ate way too much, but who can pass up that good dessert pizza?!?!? After filling our tummies, it was time for baths and then on to bed. Since we were staying in a hotel room, Robert & I got to catch up on some sleep because when it was time for the girls to go to bed, we went to bed too! So each night we were in bed by 8:30!!! It was still daylight outside and we were in bed going to sleep!!!
