Katelyn's Second Day of Kindergarten

I'm assuming you've already read my previous post about Katelyn's 1st day of kindergarten. If you haven't, go read that one before reading this one.

Robert had worked his work schedule out so that we could all walk Katelyn into school on her first day of kindergarten on Wednesday. However, since she was sick, she didn't get to go on Wednesday and Thursday was her first day. Robert already had a meeting scheduled out of town for Thursday morning, and his boss was coming in from out of town to meet him there early in the morning. There was no way he could walk Katelyn into school and get to his meeting. He explained to Katelyn that he had planned his meeting around her first day, but then she got sick and her first day changed. He told her that he'd make it up to her by walking her into school on Friday. She was perfectly fine with that. So this morning I got up and went to school early to help with the traffic duty, and then the plan was for Robert to bring the girls later and walk them in. I kept looking for them coming up the walkway from the parking lot, but I never saw them. One of the other ladies who was helping with morning drop-off hollered at me and said "Laura - I think you might know these kids!" I looked and it was Robert dropping the girls off! I couldn't believe it. Katelyn was grinning from ear to ear! She was so proud of herself for being such a big girl! She got out of the van, gave me a hug, and then walked right on into school and went to sit at one of the kindergarten tables! I'm so proud of her! When I asked Robert what happened to him walking her in he said that she decided she wanted to be dropped off! She is such a big girl!! And it's not like Rachel is able to "take care of her." The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders all have bus hall downstairs in the gym (which means Rachel heads downstairs) while the kindergartners and 1st graders have bus hall upstairs in the cafeteria. So Katelyn really was a super big girl this morning!!! She is loving every minute of school and having a wonderful time!! She's just sad that she doesn't have school again until Monday!!!
