Thursday Morning Update

Katelyn had a good night last night. She was doing so well at bedtime that she didn't want to take any of the pain meds. I slept with her to make sure she was okay. Around 12:30 she woke up and when she tried to move she was in quite a bit of pain and cried. We gave her some pain meds then. She calmed down pretty quickly and went back to sleep. She woke up again around 4:00 to go to the bathroom and again at 5:30. She slept until about 7:15 and was ready to get up! She ate breakfast and then wanted to work on a workbook that her friends Mia & CJ had brought her. After doing that for awhile, she decided she wanted to get out the craft kit that Pastor Chris brought her. She made 2 keychains and then was ready to watch a movie. I moved her to the couch and got her comfortable with some ice on her knee, and then we started watching "The Princess and the Frog." Her friends, Kylee and Jacee, gave her that movie for her birthday. She hasn't had any of the prescription pain meds, but she did have some Motrin around 9:30 this morning. She hasn't been walking this morning like she did last night, but she might as the day goes on. I think she thought she'd wake up this morning and pick up where she left off last night - not realizing that after laying in bed for the night she'd be stiff and more sore than she was at bedtime last night. But I am very pleased with how well she did last night and how well she's doing.
