Today was Rachel's first softball game. Her team has only had one practice since 2 practices have been rained out. They didn't even have their uniforms until right before game time! Anyway, Rachel did great!!! She was so happy with her uniform and looked so cute in it. Her team is the Cubs. Rachel went 3 for 3 at the plate!!! She had 2 singles and a ground rule double. They set up cones in the outfield as a temporary fence. If the ball goes over the cones on the fly, it's a homerun. If it rolls past the cones, it's a ground rule double. So Rachel's last at bat she hit a long fly ball to right field that hit and rolled past the cones for a ground rule double.
Since the team had only had one practice, the coaches didn't really know where to put anyone in the field. So they let the girls play a few different positions. Rachel started out at 3rd base for the 1st two innings and then moved to right center field for the last two innings. She didn't have any balls in the field the entire time, which bummed her a little bit! But maybe she'll get some balls next week!
