Back in School - Not for Long!!

The girls started back to school yesterday and had a great day! They were so ready to be back! I think they were ready to be back at school the first day they were home!! They both enjoy school and being with their friends. We did have a good Christmas break together, but they also enjoy the structure of being at school. Rachel read a ton of books during the break - some are on the AR (Accelerated Reader) list at school and some are not. In fact, she read 5 books just on Sunday & Monday! I told her she might not be able to take AR tests on all 5 books her 1st day back - she might only get to take a couple. When I picked her up from school she was so excited! She had actually taken 7 AR tests! Two of the tests were on books in her desk that she had read before the break but didn't have a chance to take an AR test on before break.

It has been raining A LOT here! Last night I was getting ready to go to bed and just happened to have the news on. I noticed they had school closings scrolling across the bottom of the screen, and I just happened to see our county school system listed as closed for today! WHAT?!?!?! Evidently the schools were closed for flooding. Not sure where the flooding is, but the girls are home today. I was supposed to play tennis today, but I had to cancel that. Oh well - guess I'm learning to be flexible!!!
