Fall Break 2008 - Navarre Beach, Florida

Last week was our Fall Break, and we headed to Navarre Beach, Florida for a vacation! We went there last year and really enjoyed it, so we booked the exact same condo unti again this year. My parents (Mamaw & Papaw) and my brother (Lloyd) and his wife (Wendy) also went with us. We had a really good week! The weather was good for most of the time. It did rain all day Tuesday and the first half of Wednesday, but since we were there from Saturday to Saturday, that wasn't too bad! Wendy took advantage of the rainy time to work on a quilt for her nephew. It looks so good! It's a UT quilt - he'll love it I'm sure! She was able to get most of it done while we were there!

Pretty much every day we headed out to the beach as soon as we finished breakfast. We'd stay til lunch time and then come in for lunch and a break. Then we'd head back out to the beach! We stopped by the pool a few times - mainly to finish getting the sand off of us and out of our hair!!! We also spent some time on the tennis court one morning. I think everyone except Mamaw ended up hitting some!

Our adventurous night out was one night when we headed over to Pensacola Beach to play miniature golf. Other than that, we pretty much just stayed at the beach! Oh - on the rainy day, Robert, Rachel, and Lloyd went to the Air Force Armament Museum because it was something to do and it was free!!

Last year when we were at the beach, Robert bought the girls sunsuits to wear when they were playing on the beach. They were great!!! The girls didn't have to worry about getting so much sand up their suits. Plus, it made it easy to put on sunscreen since there's not much skin showing! The girls really liked wearing those to play in at the beach. Katelyn outgrew hers from last year, so I searched online and found her something similar. It's a surfer girl suit! She thought she was so cool in her surfer girl outfit!! If any of you have kids that are constantly sitting/rolling around in the sand and then complain about sand in their shorts, I would highly recommend these!! The fabric is even SPF 15 or 30 (I can't remember).

Here's a slideshow of our time on the beach. Yes - I took A LOT of pictures, but believe it or not, this is just a fraction of them!!!
