Rachel Makes Two, and I Make Three

Monday night when we were getting the girls ready for bed, Rachel was complaining of a headache. Then she was complaining about being cold. So I asked her if she just wanted to go to bed instead of having her normal bedtime reading time and she said YES! I knew then that she wasn't feeling well. She always wants to read at bedtime. I took her temp and it was 100.8. She has had cold type symptoms for over a week and we'd been treating it with all her normal meds plus her Xopenex inhaler and mucinex, but it wasn't helping. Since she had started running a low grade fever, I called the doctor Tuesday morning and they wanted to see her. Doc said she definitely had bronchitis and put her on antibiotics. My girls just can't get a cold and then get over it. It ALWAYS turns into a secondary infection. So on the day that Katelyn finished her antibiotics, Rachel started hers!

I've been fighting something too, and I just finished antibiotics last week for a sinus infection and ear infection. Since my cough has gotten progressively worse and I still have a ton of congestion, I broke down and went to the doctor today. When I walked in and coughed, she said I sounded like I might need a chest x-ray. After listening to me for a few minutes, she decided I didn't need an x-ray, but that I definitely had some stuff going on in my chest. She had me do a peak flow meter and for my age, height, and weight, I should have numbers around 475, but I couldn't even get it to 300! So I also have bronchitis! The doc put me on more antibiotics and a flovent inhaler. She also told me to take Sudafed 24 hour each morning. In addition, I'm supposed to continue using my ProAir (albuterol) inhaler, Flonase nosespray, and mucinex! I'm starting to feel like Rachel & Katelyn with all the meds I'm having to take.

So that now makes 3 of us with bronchitis! It looks like a pharmacy around here! Here's what we're all taking:

Rachel: Flovent inhaler, Xopenex inhaler, Nasonex nose spray, Xyzal pill, Singulair pill, Mucinex, Delsym, and antibiotics

Katelyn: Flovent inhaler, ProAir inhaler, Naxonex nose spray, Zyrtec pill, Singulair pill, and she just finished her antibiotics

Laura: Flovent inhaler, ProAir inhaler, Flonase nose spray, antibiotics, Mucinex, and Sudafed 24 hour

If I had a quarter for everytime someone coughed and for every Kleenex we've used, I'd be rich!!!

I'm so sorry! I hope things look up soon. And I, too, wish I had stock in Kleenex! :) Feel better!
