This morning Katelyn had her 5 year/kindergarten check-up. She did a great job! Her vision and hearing test she passed with flying colors!! And developmentally she is well above her age. She was a very brave girl having to get 4 shots (1 in each arm and 1 in each leg) and a finger stick. And let me tell you - she didn't even cry until after the last shot, then she cried for just a minute. She's not afraid of needles at all - she WANTS to watch the nurse stick the needle in her arm or leg! She watches and grits her teeth. The nurse told her she was the best patient of the day! She did SO WELL!!!
Her stats are height = 40 inches and weight = 32.5 pounds! That puts her in the 9th percentile for height and the 4th percentile in weight!! The doctor doesn't seem concerned because SHE IS GROWING. He expects her to be at least as tall as I am (I think Robert & I would be pleased if she makes it to my enormous height of 5 ft. 2!!!). He said she's just quite petite, but that he wouldn't be surprised if she continues growing after most other girls have stopped. We'll just have to wait & see. Regardless, it really doesn't matter. The important thing is she's healthy and doing well!!!
