Sick Christmas Break

It's never fun to be sick, but it sure is a bummer to be sick on Christmas break!  I started out the break with a sinus infection and felt bad for a few days.  But then Katelyn started running a fever Thursday afternoon (Christmas Eve) and has continued to run a fever ever since!  We're currently on day 5 of fever.  We've made 2 trips to the doctor's office and she's on a ton of medicines!  Saturday the doctor put her on antibiotics and then today he added steroids and Singulair.  So that means that she's currently taking Flovent inhaler, ProAir inhaler (albuterol), Nasonex, Zyrtec, Omnicef (antibiotics), Prednisolone (steroids), Singulair, Tylenol, and Motrin!   That's a lot for a little girl to have to take!  Luckily, she hasn't been feeling too terrible (except when her fever spikes), so she has been able to enjoy playing her new Leapster games, watching new movies, and playing Webkinz.  We keep hoping that she'll break this fever, but it keeps coming back!  It'll go down with medicine, but then it goes right back up.  On top of all of this, Robert decided to get sick at his stomach Saturday night.  I quarantined him to our bedroom and told him not to come out!  He thinks it was just a result of everything he's been eating, but I didn't want to take a chance it was a bug.  I ,made him stay in our bedroom all of Sunday, but let him come out of the bedroom this morning since he's been fine.  None of us have shown any kinds of tummy trouble, so I'm thinking he's probably right - too much food, too much junk, too much snacking, etc.

I'm ready for all of us to be healthy and enjoy the rest of the break!  I know Katelyn is ready!  She had to miss Christmas with Robert's family because she was sick.  We've rescheduled Christmas with my family since it's just us and Lloyd & Wendy.  But the way Katelyn's fever keeps coming back, it may be the 4th of July before we can celebrate!!!
