We have had a very productive and fun-filled Saturday! We started out the day with wonderful pancakes made by Robert! Next it was off to the girls' Musical Theatre class. While we were there, Robert was home stringing 3 tennis racquets. The girls had lots of fun at their theatre class and are excited about their variety show performance for the parents in 2 weeks!! After class we ran home and picked up Robert and then headed to Home Depot for their kids' workshop. Home Depot hosts a kids' workshop the first Saturday of each month and it's completely FREE!!! We try to go whenever we can. The girls have their own Home Depot aprons and they earn pins for it each time they go and complete a project. They have a blast with it! Today's project was a wheelbarrow planter. It is very cute!!! After they made the wheelbarrow, they took it to the main lady and she let them pick out a plant to put in it! How cool is that - a FREE woodworking project and a FREE plant!!!
Next we headed home for some lunch. After lunch it was rest time for everyone, but I'm the only one who actually took a nap! After we had rested/napped, we headed off to the gym for Robert & I to work out. Rachel & Katelyn went to KidFit (the children's program at the gym) while we worked out. After our workout, we changed into our swimsuits and we all went swimming at the indoor pool at the gym. Since Rachel is going to be on a swim team this summer, we thought we'd better get in the pool and start practicing before the official team practices start. The girls had lots of fun and did a great job swimming! After that, we all got cleaned up and went to eat supper at Fazoli's - yummy!!! They have a meal that is spaghetti, fettuccine, and a slice of pizza for just $3.99!!! And it was good size helpings too! On top of that they have wonderful (free!) breadsticks!!! We all ate until we were completely stuffed!!!
As we were getting ready to leave Fazoli's, I remembered that Big Lots was next door and decided to run in there to see if they happened to have a white bookcase. I've been looking for a small one for Katelyn's room. She has a small one, but it's a hard plastic Little Tykes one that she's had since she was a baby. Not only did I find a white bookcase in Big Lots, but I also found a lamp that matches her bedding!!! I was so excited!!!
We came home and while the girls were winding down watching a short movie, Robert & I put the new bookcase together and got it set-up in Katelyn's room. It looks so good and she's excited about her new lamp.
What a great day!!!
