This evening we had the opportunity to go see a baby horse who was just born this morning! The girls thought that was really cool!!! There's a college girl (who happens to be named Laura) who helps with AWANA's at church that talks to us all the time. She is a super sweet girl! She told us a few weeks ago that her horse would be giving birth soon and that we should bring the girls out to see the baby when it's born. Well, Laura called today to tell us that she had a new baby horse at her house, so we took the girls out this evening. Katelyn got right in there to pet the baby, pet the other horses, feed them, etc. She was fascinated by them and asked me on the way home if we could go back again sometime and let her ride one of the horses!! Rachel liked the horses, but was a little more hesitant with them. She did warm up to them though, and decided she liked petting them and feeding them too! Laura even caught one of the chickens so that the girls could pet one of those too! And two of the chickens had just recently laid eggs, so we got to see those. One of the eggs was brown, but the other one was blue! How cool! And Laura told us that the blue ones were lower in cholesterol! Who knew? Guess you can tell I'm not very familiar with farm stuff! Here are some pictures from our evening at the farm.
The baby horse was tired from his exhausting day and decided to lay down right before we got there. It made it easy for the girls to get in the stall and pet it!
