Tennis Report and Other Misc.

Well, most of you probably know that Robert is a great tennis player! His men's combo team won their local league back last fall, and then went on to win the state in November. This past week-end they were in Baton Rouge playing in the sectional tournament, which is where the winners from the 9 southern states come together and play each other. Robert's team did really well and went 3-1. However, they did come up a little short and weren't able to make it to the finals. Of course, it probably worked out for the best because most of the guys had flights coming home at like 5:30, and because of rain all day Saturday, the Sunday matches got moved back later and the finals ended up being played at like 4:00 in the afternoon! So there was no way they could have played at 4:00 AND made their flights at 5:30! It was a great season for them.

Now it's time to get ready for the spring tennis season! It looks like Robert will be captaining a men's team this spring. I'll be playing on two women's teams this spring in two different divisions. So I should be getting lots of tennis playing in! I haven't played any the past 2 weeks because it has been SO COLD and I'm too cheap to pay to play indoors!!!

The girls are doing pretty well. We have coughing and quite a bit of snot around here, but that's pretty normal for us! Katelyn actually had pneumonia last week, but she's over that now and doing fine. We caught the pneumonia fairly early, so one round of antibiotics seemed to take care of that.

For those of you who know me, you know that I do not like to speak in front of people. However, last week I went and spoke to a class at my parents' church. You see, they were offering the First Place class there for the first time, and my mom had been talking about how I took the class at my church last semester and lost 25+ pounds. So they asked me to come and speak at their first class. I was VERY nervous, but I made it through it. I hope I did okay. I'm sure I talked way too fast and talked with my hands, but hey, that's just me!!! If there's anyone out there trying to decide whether or not to take a First Place class I would say GO FOR IT! It's a great program!

I guess that's enough rambling for now. Stay warm!

Hey-I'm proud of you and your public speaking engagement. Did you charge a fee?:) I know you did great and you look great, so that is a testimony in itself! Tell your mom, I'm trying to send a few more pounds her way, but she isn't being very receptive yet. I really need her cooperation!!:)
