You Win Some, You Lose Some

This past week-end, Robert & I went to the doubles combo state championships in Chattanooga. Robert was playing with his men's team, and I was playing with my women's team. In combo doubles, a match consists of three doubles courts, where the ratings of the players add up to a certain number. Robert's team was an 8.5 team, which means that a 4.0 guy plays with a 4.5 guy. (FYI - Robert is a 4.0.) My women's team was a 6.5 team, so it was a 3.0 woman paired with a 3.5 woman. (I am a 3.5.) Both of our teams did really well, but unfortunately, my team came up a little short. My team won our first 4 matches to win our group and advance to the finals. However, in the finals our luck ran out and we got beat. But hey, second in the state isn't so bad!! Robert's team, however, did go undefeated with a record of 5-0! So his team won the state! Now they'll head to Baton Rouge in January for the sectional tournament where they'll compete against the winners from 8 other southern states.

I took my camera but didn't end up with any pictures! It was kind of crazy because Robert & I usually were playing at different sites around Chattanooga, so some times I didn't get to watch him play and he wouldn't get to watch me play. My captain's husband took like 700 pictures this week-end, so maybe I'll have a picture to post that he took.
